WEINA ZHAO ( A T )
Weina Zhao is a Vienna based director, writer and producer with a strong interest in furthering the voices and narratives of BPOC and other marginalized groups. Her debut feature Weiyena – The Long March Home (AT 2020, co-directed with Judith Benedikt) won several awards for best documentary. Weina is the co-founder of the BPOC filmnetwork GEWÄCHSHAUS and Perilla Zine, a publication for the Asian Diaspora. She is co-founder of the film production company Electric Shadows Films and currently writing on her feature film debut "iExist" and the sci-fi essay documentary "CAR".
