Nimikry are an experimental composer-performer duo conjuring wondrous sounds from their self-designed ‘augmented’ instruments. Alessandro Baticci and Rafal Zalech combine technological innovation, artistic research, and live performance. Digitally augmented flutes and viola form the basis for the duo’s inspirational playground, where they remain in search of new sonic possibilities, from noise-pop, remixed classical music, and outright improvisation.
