Saved±Sounds is a podcast based on an audio archive, made by Palais des Beaux Arts Wien, of all Unsafe+Sounds 2016 performances. It is not a presentation of recordings as such, but rather a distorted, yet authentic, recollection of what happened. Somehow like fixing some memories while modifying them at the same time. You’ll maybe recognize what you heard last year, or maybe not. It is the music from last year and not. The recordings were made by “a spectator” carrying two small microphones in his ears (binaural audio technique), while standing in the audience or moving around. Each track was composed by using parts of the recordings of one specific night, without the addition of extra sounds. The podcast will be released daily, in 7 parts, from the 15th to the 21st of September 2017.

Simone Borghi studied philosophy in Italy and acousmatic/electroacoustic composition between Belgium and Austria.

Lives and works in Vienna, where he has been curating evenings of sound installations in complete darkness and working for the art association Palais des Beaux Arts. He’s curator, performer, sound artist and composer. As author, he published a book about the music in the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze, (Verona, 2008; Buenos Aires, 2014).
