Das Wettbüro is a Berlin-based Electronica-Krautrock band whose precise numbers are designed to tease the listener with slyly confident flair. Formed in 2019 by a group of artist-musicians, the project merges motoric drive with a healthy dose of wit and an astonishingly shapeshifting form of high musicality. Their playfully odd tracks gamble with retrochic, drawing on Germany’s rich musical legacy — from Krautrock pioneers like Neu! and Can, to Kraftwerk’s elastic robotic funk, from lascivious pre-fall-of-the-Berlin-Wall disco to quirky, evocative radio plays by artists such as Conrad Schnitzler and Asmus Tietchens.
